Swedish Bank Gains Efficiency, Security With Flexible Technology Solution

London
NASDAQ-NMS:NWS

LONDON, July 22 — Svenska Handelsbanken, one of the largest banks in Sweden, signed a multi-year contract with Dow Jones Watchlist. The deal gives Svenska Handelsbanken access to Dow Jones’ anti-money laundering (AML) service to help the firm comply with international and local AML regulations.

Dow Jones Watchlist, a global database of Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) formerly called Factiva Public Figures & Associates, will be customized to meet Svenska Handelsbanken’s need to comply with Swedish privacy laws. It will also be integrated with the bank’s current compliance solution.

“Dow Jones Watchlist’s comprehensive, global coverage and flexible technology delivers critical compliance information in the format that best fits the clients’ needs,” Rupert de Ruig, Managing Director for Risk and Compliance for Dow Jones, said. “We are pleased to help Svenska Handelsbanken monitor their exposure to risk and comply with anti-money laundering regulations worldwide while reducing false positives, which will increase their compliance department’s efficiency and control costs.”

Dow Jones Watchlist is a comprehensive, global database which tracks and monitors sanctions, PEPs and several other risk categories. It also features country profiles, customizable PEP risk tools and the Dow Jones Factiva searchable news archive.
